The Sturgeon Bay Clippers girls soccer team extended its winning streak with a 1-0 victory over Seymour on Tuesday, powered by a second-half goal and a standout performance in net.
Senior Miya Nell scored the lone goal in the 52nd minute, lifting the Clippers in a tightly contested nonconference matchup. Freshman goalkeeper Prudence Goettleman delivered a remarkable effort, recording 26 saves to preserve the shutout and secure the win.
The victory builds on strong momentum for Sturgeon Bay, which has found its stride in recent outings. The Clippers previously earned a decisive 5-0 win over Sevastopol/Gibraltar United in their home opener Monday, highlighted by balanced scoring and a defense that did not allow a shot on goal.
With back-to-back wins, the Clippers continue to gain confidence as the season progresses. Sturgeon Bay returns to action Thursday with a road match at Peshtigo.
