The Sturgeon Bay boys’ basketball team is prepping for this Tuesday as they are traveling to face the Menominee Nation Eagles for the WIAA Sectionals first round.
The Eagles are the No. 7 seed; their last outing saw them beat Shiocton 80-77.
The Clippers enter as the No.10 seed and are fresh off a nail-biting 55-53 victory over Oconto. Paving the way for the Clippers was Ben Ash with 22 points, with his final points coming in the winding seconds of regulation, down 1 point. Ash pump faked a three, got his defender jumping, then put up the shot as the buzzer went off, winning the game for the Clippers. Jaxzen Bleck chipped in 16 points, and Siggy Hansen added 12.
The winner will go on to face the No. 2 seed, Seymour, on Friday, 3/6.
The tip-off is at 7 p.m.
