The Sturgeon Bay boys basketball team suffered heartbreak during their trip to Green Bay on Monday, falling to NEW Lutheran 55-54 in overtime.
Playing without an ill Benjamin Ash, the Clippers were able to tie the game at the end of regulation despite trailing 23-19 at the break. Paced by a 21-point performance from their leading scorer Hayden Schultz, the Blazers outscored the Clippers 4-3 in the extra stanza to steal the win.
Jaxzen Bleck led the Clippers with 12 points while Sam Fruzyna chipped in nine points in the loss.
The Clippers (10-13/5-10) return to action Thursday for their regular-season finale at home against Oconto.
