Strong second-half by Clippers drives win

Sturgeon Bay faced conference foe Gibraltar in a girls basketball matchup Tuesday that was dominated in the second half by the Clippers on their way to a 55-41 home win.

Gibraltar trailed by just two going into the break, 26-24, but struggled to keep pace in the second as shots stopped falling. Emilie Glocke nailed four first-half triples that kept the Vikings in the game at crucial moments and she finished with 14.

The Clippers offense came by committee in the second as Regan Kasten supplied much of the power in the first. She led all scorers with 18. Seven Clippers scored in the second, a half where they outscored the Vikings 29-17.

Sturgeon Bay (6-15) swept the season series against Gibraltar (4-18). Both programs will see the court this Friday as Sturgeon Bay travels to Kewaunee and Gibraltar hosts Algoma. Games will tip off at 7 p.m.
