Sturgeon Bay falls despite Kasten's big night

Sturgeon Bay’s girls basketball team hung around early but couldn’t keep pace after halftime, falling 56-31 to Two Rivers on Tuesday night. Regan Kasten was the bright spot for the Clippers, leading all scorers with 21 points and getting to the line often.

The Clippers trailed just 28-26 at the break and were strong from the free-throw line in the first half, going 15-for-21. The second half, however, went the opposite direction. Sturgeon Bay was held without a field goal and scored all five of its points at the line, finishing just 5-for-14 from the stripe over the final 18 minutes while Two Rivers pulled away.

Turnovers also hurt the Clippers, leading to transition chances for the Purple Raiders’ trio of Timm (10), Gallagher (10), and Bateman (11), who all reached double figures.

Sturgeon Bay looks to regroup as they continue their early-season schedule with Hilbert Wed., Nov. 25th at 6pm.
