The Clippers secured their spot with a 3-1 overtime victory against Kiel in their last outing, a game that also marked head coach Todd Maas's 300th career win. Goals in that match came from Zone Wienke, Kemal Wienke, and Finn Stevenson. Their opponents, Xavier, advanced after beating Lourdes in a shootout following a 1-1 tie in regulation.
