The final night of Coach Todd Maas' coaching career at Clark Field was a memorable one as his Sturgeon Bay Clippers outlasted Kiel 3-1 in overtime Thursday night to clinch a sectional final berth.

 

The Clippers found themselves down 1-0 at the break and trailed until Zone Wienke was able to find the back of the net in the 67th minute. With some chances late for the Raiders, the Clippers were able to force the game in overtime.

 

 

Wienke and Finn Stevenson came through for the Clippers in the extra frames, each scoring goals to clinch the victory. It was Maas' 300th as the team's coach with an opportunity to add potentially three more to that total before he steps aside at the end of the season.

 

 

The Clippers will be back on the road for their sectional final as they face Xavier in Kiel at 1 p.m. Bryan Mazur and Peter Kerwin will have the call on U-102.1 beginning at 12:45 p.m. with the pregame show.
