Clippers rebound with win over Raiders, face United on U-102.1

Days after a draw to Peshtigo, the Sturgeon Bay Clippers responded in a big way with a 3-0 victory over Pulaski.

Coach Maas said the team regrouped with a family sit-down to refocus on effort, expectations, standards, and character before putting in hard work at practice. The results showed on the field as the Clippers displayed strong energy, discipline, and teamwork throughout the match.

Simon Downey scored in the first half, converting a penalty kick after a foul in the box. Finn Stevenson delivered two goals in the second half to seal the win. His first came off a corner from Daniel Wienke, and his second was a highlight effort, beating the keeper to a bouncing ball and heading it in.

The Clippers’ turnaround performance set a new standard for the group moving forward. “We played as a team tonight, which has now set the bar a little bit higher in our expectation category,” said the coaching staff.
