Clippers soccer play Bulldogs to draw

Despite the neutral result, a 1-1 draw against Peshtigo was not the result the Sturgeon Bay soccer team sought from their trip around the bay.

The Clippers dominated the Bulldogs in most other statistics on the evening, posting 23 shots that made it through, along with double-digit blocked shots. The Clippers earned 14 corner kicks to the Bulldogs' one. On a corner kick, the Clippers secured a halftime lead on an own goal. The Bulldogs tied the game in the second half to secure the point and leave head coach Todd Maas looking for the drawing board to prevent future missteps. "We have to figure out how to maintain possession with a purpose and have a meaningful attack and score some goals," Maas said.

Maas credited the Bulldogs with the strong performance, saying that "hey played better than I've seen them do in a long time.  They played pretty defensive and made it tough for us to get through their low block."
