The Door County United swim team is gearing up for a dual meet against New London on Thursday, looking to build on its recent strong performance. In their last outing, DCU showcased their talent at the Notre Dame Academy Invite, held at St. Norbert's College on Saturday. The team secured an impressive second-place finish, accumulating 106 points, just 14 points shy of first-place finisher Bay Port.
A significant portion of DCU's points came from their dominant relay performances, where they achieved a podium finish in all three events, contributing 44 points. These included a first-place victory in the 200-yard medley relay, spearheaded by the formidable quartet of Quinn Sperber, Hazel Monfils, Chloe Bissen, and Shaeffer Rass. They also secured third place in both the 200-yard freestyle relay, with Monfils, Jillian Peterson, Kailyn Neville, and Bissen, and the 400-yard freestyle relay, featuring Neville, Sperber, Peterson, and Breanna Anderson.
Beyond the relays, DCU's individual swimmers delivered exceptional results. Kailyn Neville stood out, claiming first place in the 200 freestyle and a solid third in the 100 breaststroke. Shaeffer Rass also had a strong showing, finishing second in the 200 medley and third in the 100 backstroke. Hazel Monfils added to the team's success with a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke, while Chloe Bissen rounded out the top individual performances with a third-place finish in the 50 freestyle.
