Clippers soccer battles Paladins on U-102.1

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers look to start their week on a high note on Monday when they play their second straight home match against a Green Bay area team.

The Clippers lost a close 1-0 match to 2024 state participant Green Bay Preble last Friday, allowing Jordan Escobar to score off an assist from Jesus Zuno for the lone tally. Head coach Todd Maas was happy with the team's effort, saying post-match that they gave themselves chances in the second half to tie the match up. " I hope the boys don't dwell on the loss too much, because in my book, we played a good game," Maas added. Clippers captain Will Estes was also happy with the team's effort despite the result.

The Paladins posted an 8-1 win over former co-op cohort NEW Lutheran before playing Valley Homeschool to a 1-1 draw last Friday at home.

Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. with Bryan Mazur and Peter Kerwin bringing you the call on U-102.1 beginning at 6:15 p.m. with the pregame show.

In other local soccer action, Algoma welcomes NEW Lutheran and Kewaunee travels to Peshtigo for 4:30 p.m. matches.
