Clippers Outlast N.E.W. Lutheran in Five-Set Thriller

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers battled through a rollercoaster match to earn a five-set win over Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran at home on Thursday, September 11, finishing 25–19, 18–25, 25–19, 23–25, 15–12.

 

Setter Makenna Coyhis steered the offense with 42 assists, keeping the attack balanced throughout the night. Izzy Schoeneman powered through at the net with eight kills and five aces, while Miya Nell and Yarrow Goettelman combined for 12 kills and four blocks. Defensively, Regan Kasten tallied eight digs and three blocks, with Cora Frangipane adding seven digs and two aces in the back row. Rounding out the effort, Audrey Harrington delivered 17 kills, 16 digs, six aces, and two blocks to help seal the win.

 

The Clippers’ depth and poise in key moments fueled their first five-set victory of the season, sending the home crowd home happy after one of the most exciting matches yet.
