The Sturgeon Bay soccer team will try to get its second straight win against a Green Bay area school on Friday night when it faces Green Bay Preble on its home field.
In Thursday's 5-0 road win over NEW Lutheran, the Clippers controlled the match offensively, with 42 shots, 28 of which were on frame, and nine corner kicks. Ashton Benzinger registered a brace while Joni Ismaili, Calvin Langfeldt, and Isaiah Eliason also tallied goals. Head coach Todd Maas said postgame that his team struggled to find a rhythm in their attacking third in the first half, which showed in the score being 0-0 at halftime. "Our halftime talk was productive, and the guys settled down and came out playing much more consistent and confident," said Maas.
They face a Hornets squad that is 2-2-1 on the season. They are winless in their last three matches, picking up a 1-1 draw against Pulaski in their last reported match.
