Clippers struggle in home opener against Lions

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers could not slow down the Brillion Lions in the first half as they went on to lose their home opener 46-0 Thursday night.

The Lions scored on their first seven possessions to jump out to a huge lead that forced an early conclusion to the game. Heath Cousin and Brenner Nett each scored two touchdowns on the ground while Weston Schmidt and a connection between quarterback Joe Shimek and tight end Kelvin Gilbertson accounted for the other touchdowns.

The Clippers try again next week when they travel to Schofield Stadium to face Antigo at 7 p.m.
