Clippers soccer season ends in New Holstein

New Holstein’s Haylee Lowe scored the game’s lone goal late in the first half, which proved to be the game winner in a 1-0 loss for Sturgeon Bay soccer.

The Clippers' keeper, Isabella Jimenez Seyfer, kept the team in the game, posting 15 saves.  With the loss, Sturgeon Bay finished the season 9-12-2.

“Izzy was absolutely fabulous in this game," head coach Robert Desotelle said after the match. "She had five super athletic saves, which kept our chance for a tie alive, and our five shots on goal weren’t enough tonight."

The loss marked the end of the road for the veteran team as Desotelle now says goodbye to nine of his players. "While it’s difficult to say goodbye to our nine seniors, they sure battled tonight, and despite the loss, this group had a very solid season."

The coaching staff is very proud of their effort and season and they are already looking forward to next season. "A close game in regional play leaves us hungry for another shot to win. We’ll be ready next spring."
