Quick memories will be needed for the Sturgeon Bay Clippers baseball as they prepare to host Gibraltar/Washington Island after losing to Marinette on Monday 10-3.
An RBI single from Ethan Kratcha gave the Clippers an early 1-0 lead, but the Clippers gave up three runs in the third and seven more in the fifth to doom them to their fate. Wyatt Strauss proved to be a thorn in the Clippers' side as he went 2-4 with four RBI including a home run that drove in three. The Clippers scored twice in the sixth inning thanks to a Bryce Plzak single and a bases-loaded walk. Siggy Hansen, the Plzaks, and Kratcha were the only Clippers to register hits in the loss.
The Clippers welcome a Vikings squad that is 11-0 on the season. In Friday's win over Peshtigo, Brady Kita, Aaron Brey, and Owen Dannhausen had two hits apiece in the game, with Kita and Brey boasting multi-RBI games. Not lost on Brey was the impact of the defense behind him while on the mound, pointing Bennett Isaacson-Krueger's defense at short and a couple of highlight reel grabs from Cam Munao.
Tim Kowols will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT beginning at 4:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the first pitch at 4:30 p.m.
