Ten runs in the first inning helped the Sturgeon Bay Clippers baseball breathe easy the rest of the way in a 16-6 win over NEW Lutheran in six innings on Tuesday.
In addition to lacing three hits, the Clippers took advantage of four errors and six free passes to base paths. The Clippers' Ethan Kratcha and Patrick Haese were responsible for the next two runs scored to make it 12-0 after three innings. Six runs would come across the plate for the Blazers in the fourth thanks to a collection of walks and singles, but the Clippers would get two back in the bottom half thanks to Kratcha's second double and a Haese single. The Clippers would end the game early with two more runs in the sixth inning on a fielder's choice and an error.
Kratcha ended his evening 3-5 for three RBI, while Haese went 3-3 with two RBI, and Siggy Hansen made the most out of his one hit with three RBI. Kratcha also earned the win for the Clippers, striking out six while allowing nothing over three innings.
