Clippers baseball drops opener to Blue Devils

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers tied the game in the third inning but lost its grip late in a 6-1 loss to Oconto on Thursday.

 

Down 1-0 after the first inning, Caleb Plzak singled in Garrett Goetsch to make it 1-1 in the third. The wheels fell off in the bottom of the sixth as the Blue Devils batted around, and an error with two outs cleared the bases. 

 

Manager Neal Henrigillis saluted his starting pitcher Ethan Kratcha who allowed one run (1 ER) on three hits while striking out five. Bryce Plzak had the other hit for the Clippers.
