Sturgeon Bay baseball opens season at Green Bay Southwest

If the area's high school baseball and softball teams are searching for a glimpse of spring, their attention may turn to Green Bay Southwest High School on Tuesday afternoon, where the Sturgeon Bay Clippers baseball team is scheduled to play against the Trojans.

In manager Neil Henrigillis' second season, the Clippers split their 28 matchups, seeing their season end against Denmark 11-1. Caleb Plzak, Bryce Plzak, and Patrick Haese are returning All-Packerland Conference performers from a year ago. The Trojans are coming off a 10-17 season that ended in the regional round against Pulaski. The first pitch was moved from 6 p.m. to 4 p.m. to avoid potential weather issues later in the evening.
