Clippers girls come up short at Green Bay East

The hole was just too big for the Sturgeon Bay girls basketball team to climb out of in its 55-45 loss to Green Bay East on Monday.

The Red Devils put the Clippers on their toes early with four of their 10 made three-pointers in the first half, while Regan Kasten was the only Sturgeon Bay player to break through East's defense as the home team took a 27-11 lead into the locker room. The Clippers' offense was able to get more players involved in the second half, with Dasha Yeltysheva scoring all 14 of her points after the break. Kasten's night finished with 22 points, and two other players added four points. The Red Devils were led by Jamaya Mariner with 16, Haillie Gonion with 15, and Maddie Payant with 12.
