Clippers boys can't stop Zephyrs, face Raiders Friday

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers boys basketball team found itself trying to catch a train on Thursday, falling to the St. Mary Catholic Zephyrs 80-67.

The Zephyrs took a 48-29 into the locker room with the Clippers only having moderate success cutting the deficit.

Jackson Starr led all scorers with 27 points to pace the Clippers with Benjamin Ash adding 14 points, Hayden Tracy adding nine points, and Braden Evers chipping in eight points. Mason Uhlenbrauck led the Zephyrs with 24 points, Tarver Trinkner contributed 15 points, and Luke Fairweather complemented them with 10 points.

It will be a quick turnaround for the Clippers as they travel to face Two Rivers for a 7 p.m. tip. The Raiders are 3-4 on the season and recently snapped a two-game skid with a 74-40 thrashing of Destiny in the consolation game of the Oostburg Holiday Tournament.
