Clippers boys top Blue Devils

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers boys' basketball team outlasted visiting Oconto as they won 62-53.

The Clippers had even scoring throughout its line up with five players scoring at least eight points. Hayden Tracy led the Clippers with 16 points with Jackson Starr chipping in 14 points and Sam Fruzyna adding 11 points. The Blue Devils' Carter Koch led all scorers with 31 points.

Head coach Zach Goblisch was proud of his team's fight and effort against a team that was going to battle them from buzzer to buzzer. "Oconto fought hard and never went away in this one, but we were able to weather the storm by executing offensively to get great looks and grinding on the defensive end to get stops," Goblisch said postgame.

Sturgeon Bay is now 1-0 in Packerland Conference play and 2-1 overall. The Clippers are back in action next Tuesday as they make the trip around the bay to Peshtigo for their second Packerland Conference Contest of the season.
