Clipper girls fall to Chilton

In the first ball game of our 2024-2025 campaign we fell to Chilton 40-59.

Chilton's Adahlyn Hoerl (and division one recruit) had 35 points.  Their next leading scorer had 9.  Last year we were down 30 at halftime and lost 41-80 at Chilton.

Dasha Yeltysheva led the Clippers with 15 points.  Cady Carlson had 9.  Regan Kasten and Yarrow Goettelman each added six.  Cora Frangipane and Gabi Tjernagel each contributed two points.

It was a two-point game at 16-14 in the first half before Chilton went on a run to build up a lead, then Sturgeon Bay got a bit closer prior to the half.  The Clippers came out strong in the second half getting the lead down to about 11 at one point.

Clipper Coach Dan TJernagel said after the game, "Overall, I am very proud of the improvement our ladies continue to show and look forward to this kind of effort in future games".

Sturgeon Bay is back in action next at Two Rivers on Thursday evening.  Last year after trailing at the half, the Clippers came back to tie it in regulation, then went on to win in overtime 46-39.
