The Sturgeon Bay Clippers 2024 football season ended Friday night on U102.1 at the hands of the Wrightstown Tigers by a score of 64-18. The Clippers kept things close in the first quarter, entering the second quarter with a 7-3 score. The Tigers, however, took a 50-10 lead into the half.
The teams combined for seven touchdowns in the second quarter, but sadly, only one was scored by the Clippers. That came on a one-play, 65-yard touchdown drive when Caleb Plzak pitched the ball to Patrick Haese, who in turn launched the ball downfield into the hands of Bryce Plzak, who had gotten deep behind the Tigers' defense. The Tigers' 6 second-quarter touchdowns all came on the ground, 4 of which were run by Aiden Humphreys.
The final touchdown of the Clippers' season came in the third quarter when Caleb Plzak found his brother Bryce one last time in their Clippers gear for both the touchdown and a two-point conversion.
The Clippers season ends with a final record of 3-7. Wrightstown will host Southern Door in level 2 of the WIAA playoffs.
