The Sturgeon Bay Clippers open their WIAA Playoff Run with their tallest task of the season, playing on the road at Wrightstown Friday night.
The Clippers' three wins in conference play helped them slide into the playoffs as the lowest seed in their region. The Clippers have been streaky all season long, ending the year with a four-game losing streak after post three straight victories in September. Caleb Plzak threw for over 1100 yards behind center as the quarterback, while Patrick Haese led the team in rushing (654 yards) and second in receiving (166 yards).
The Tigers were one of two teams from the North Eastern Conference to play at Camp Randall Stadium last year, losing to Aquinas in the title game. They are aiming at a return to Madison thanks to an 8-1 mark. After a close loss to Freedom three weeks ago, they toppled Denmark and New London by a combined score of 71-7.
Jacob Nate will have the call on U-102.1 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the kickoff at 7 p.m.
