Clippers soccer polish off Paladins on U-102.1

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers soccer team finished off their opportunities this time around against Providence Academy, winning the contest 6-0 at Clark Field.

Both Soccer teams started the match with high intensity in the opening minutes, but the Clippers struck first and often. Sturgeon Bay jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening 11 minutes, with goals coming from Klotz (6th), Estes (8th), and Gutierrez (11th). The Score would remain 3-0 through halftime, with most of that credit going to the Providence goalie, Brice Nedobeck, who shut down the Clippers attack until Finn Stephenson found the back of the net twice (49th, 55th minutes), giving the Clippers a commanding lead. A double yellow (Red) was issued in the 56th minute to a Providence player, leaving them with only ten on the field for the remainder of the match. Starr would finish the night's scoring off a direct kick in the 58th minute, and the match would end 6-0.

The victory unofficially gave the Clippers the Packerland Conference crown and a nice regular season send-off for the team's seniors.
