The chill in the air with the brisk fall air means the WIAA Football playoffs are near, and two local teams are looking to punch tickets to the big dance. Southern Door and Sturgeon Bay meet in a Packerland Conference battle, with a spot in the playoffs all but guaranteed to the winner, when they faceoff on Friday night on U102.1.

Southern Door comes in, having won its last 4 straight games, including a 37-20 last week against Kewaunee. Drew Daoust led the way for the Eagles in that victory, completing 13-20 passes for 278 yards and 4 touchdowns. Daoust also had 11 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown on the ground as well.

As for Sturgeon Bay, the Clippers dropped a close game last week, falling 19-14 to Mishicot. Bryce Plzak stuffed the box score with 7 catches for 199 yards, a receiving touchdown, and 10 carries for 70 on the ground in the loss.
