Clippers soccer settles for draw vs. Blazers

A hard-fought game that the Sturgeon Bay girls' soccer team controlled still ended in a 1-1 draw against NEW Lutheran.

NEW scored on a deflected ball booted by Ada Haleen in the 5th minute, and Sturgeon Bay's Paula Winkie evened the score in the 24th minute, tying the game at 1-1.  Despite outshooting NEW 9-1, Sturgeon Bay had to settle for a tie in this conference matchup.  Isabelle Jiminez Seyer had one save in goal for the Clippers.  For the second game this week, Sturgeon Bay won the possession war and outshot their opponent nearly 2 to 1, but failed to gain a victory.  While frustrating, players and coaches remain confident the tide will turn, and the goals will start finding the back of the net.  Next for the Clippers, a non-conference match at Three Lakes is on Friday night.
