Clippers baseball sweeps Gillett Triangular

The Sturgeon Bay baseball team recorded big wins on Saturday in Gillett, beating Crandon 7-6 and the host Tigers 20-9.

In their win over the Cardinals, each team recorded one big inning, with the Clippers recording six of their seven runs in the fifth inning and the Cardinals scoring five of their six in the following inning. The single tally the Clippers scored in the seventh inning proved to be the game-winner. Braylon LaRoche, Brady Kollath, and Danny Lodl each recorded multi-hit games, while Caleb Plzak, Curt Meyer, and Lodl were responsible for the RBI.

In their five-inning win over the Tigers, the Clippers scored six runs in the third inning and eight in the fifth inning to put the game away early. Seven Clippers had multi-hit games, and nine Clippers drove in at least one run. Kollath had the most significant day offensively, recording three hits and five RBI in the game. The Plzaks each drove in two runs.
