Clippers girls drop contest to NEW Lutheran

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers girls' basketball team could not end their senior night on a happy note, losing to NEW Lutheran 41-28 at home on Thursday night.

Head coach Dan Tjernagel said the team played hard but struggled to score again as they found themselves down 19-12 at the break and only saw that lead grow in the second half. Dasha Yeltysheva tried to keep her team, knocking down eight of the team's 11 made field goals en route to a 16-point game. Regan Kasten scored six points and Cady Carlson added five in the loss. Yeltysheva was matched by the Blazers' Ingrid Beaumont, who was complemented by Kiley Dhein's nine points.

In Division 3, #10 Sturgeon Bay will travel to Tomahawk on February 20th with a chance to play Freedom in the regional semi-final.
