Clippers girls get early start vs. Tigers

On Tuesday, the Sturgeon Bay Clippers girls' basketball team will have an early 5:45 p.m. tip against the Gillett Tigers.

In their last game, the Clippers gave them a scare, but the Algoma Wolves were able to pull away in the second half to win the game 43-30 on December 21st. The Lady Clippers held a 19-15 advantage at halftime thanks to seven first-half points by Cady Carlson. According to Sturgeon Bay head coach Dan Tjernagel, the Wolves were able to clamp down on defense while grabbing some key rebounds to spur the comeback victory. Carlson would not score another point in the game, eventually surpassed by Dasha Yeltysheva's 16 points.

The Tigers are 3-5 heading into Tuesday's contest after losing their last two games. Cilena Guns scored 14 points and Maggie Kaczmarek registered 12 points in their 52-47 loss to Coleman on the road in their final game of 2023.
