Sturgeon Bay takes to the road for playoff opener vs. Wrightstown

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers return to the WIAA Playoffs for the second year in a row with a matchup against the Wrightstown Tigers to greet them.

The  Clippers enter the playoffs splitting their last four games, with their two losses coming against Packerland Conference champion Kewaunee and runner-up Southern Door. Quarterback Danny Lodl is making headlines in the area and across the state in his return behind center after suffering a season-ending injury against Kewaunee last season. Lodl leads the state in passing yards with more than 2,100 yards, according to WisSports.net. He's also tied for third in passing touchdowns with 24, just two behind state-leading Adam Skifton of Onalaska.

The Tigers lost their quarterback earlier in the season but still managed to scare Luxemburg-Casco last week with a chance to take the NEC crown. Their 16-12 loss to the Spartans was only their second loss of the year and their first since September 8th.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
