Clippers cross country hopes for more strong performances at Shawano

The Sturgeon Bay cross country team returns to action on Saturday as they get ready to run in an invitational hosted by Shawano.

 

Appleton West, Athens, Bonduel, Brillion, Gillett, Green Bay East, Green Bay Preble, Green Bay Southwest, Green Bay West, Gresham, Hortonville, Kaukauna, Manawa, Manitowoc Lincoln, Marion, Menasha, New London, Notre Dame De La Baie Academy, Oconto Falls, Oshkosh North, Shiocton, Suring, West De Pere, Wolf River Lutheran, and Xavier are all scheduled to compete when they begin with the first race at 9 a.m.

 

The Clippers Cross Country team competed with 11 schools in Algoma Thursday on the toughest course of the season.  The girls placed 3rd with Julia Kurek in second place, Mikayla Laluzerne in 11th, Jade Tomberlin in 14th, Claire Quarderer in 16th,  and Alexis Olson in 18th.  Amelia Langfeldt and Gabby Luett rounded out the varsity team.  On the boys side,  Luke Selle had his fastest race of the season. Gavin Forest, Silas Nerby and Alan Beardsley all toughed it out with good times on a tough hilly course.
