A four-run third run briefly gave the Sturgeon Bay Clippers the hopes of stealing a win in Green Bay Saturday, instead falling 9-5 to Southwest.

The Clippers gave up their own big inning in the first inning after scoring the game's first run on an RBI groundout by Brody Kollath. Two hits and two errors led to four runs for the Trojans to make 4-1 after the first inning. The Trojans would tack on an insurance run in the second inning before the Clippers erupted for four runs in the third inning. They did it the patient way though as they scored on a passed ball and three bases-loaded walks to tie the game at five. The Trojans would not lament, score the eventual game-winner in the bottom half of the frame courtesy of a passed ball and three more times in the fifth inning.

Bryce Plzak led the way with three hits and two runs scored while Kollath got two RBI. The Clippers used three pitchers on the day, giving up nine runs (5 ER) while striking out eight and scattering seven hits.
