Clippers baseball extends lead, beats Bulldogs

It was worth the wait for the Sturgeon Bay Clippers baseball team as they expanded on their 3-2 suspended lead to beat Peshtigo 9-2 Friday evening.

The Clippers delivered their blow in the fourth inning when Bryce Plzak doubled home one run his brother Caleb singled him in. A Curt Meyer RBI double and a Brody Kollath score on a passed ball later turned a close game into a journey toward a blowout. Danny Lodl singled home Kollath and Plzak to cap off the scoring for the Clippers.

Kollath picks up the win for the Clippers, who came back from the suspended game to finish off the contest, allowing five hits and two runs across seven innings while striking out six. "I was pleased with how we came out tonight. It was a tough situation to get on a bus and play only 4 innings but we were sharp. Brody Kollath pitched great, and our bats immediately gave us a cushion," said Coach Neal Henrigillis.
