Sturgeon Bay baseball battles Algoma for two Thursday

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers and the Algoma Wolves will meet Thursday at Memorial Field for a pair of Packerland Conference baseball games as the regular season winds closer to its conclusion. 

 

The Clippers were on the verge of splitting its matchups with Peshtigo on Tuesday before the second game was called due to darkness. In their 6-5 loss to Peshtigo, the Clippers scored four runs in the seventh but had their rally cut short after taking a 1-0 lead in early in the loss. Danny Lodl with 2-4 with two RBI in the Clippers' loss. The two teams will finish their second game on Friday with the Clippers holding a slim 3-2 advantage. 

 

The Wolves responded to their struggles on the baseball diamond against Kewaunee with a two-game sweep of NEW Lutheran by the scores of 4-2 and 7-3. The team has won five of their last seven games after suffering a four-game losing skid.

 

First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
