Clippers baseball split lopsided games in Manawa

It was a tale of two games on the day for the Sturgeon Bay Clippers as they beat Manawa 16-6 and lost to Chilton 16-0 in consecutive games on Saturday.

In game one, the Clippers scored in every inning, including a five-run tone-setter in the second inning and another four-run outburst in the fifth. In his first athletic competition since suffering a leg injury during a football game against Kewaunee, Danny Lodl went 3-4 with three RBI while Emmett Braschnewitz, Brody Kollath, and Curt Meyer all cashed in with two RBI. Caden LeMieux earned the victory, allowing five runs (two earned) on four hits and striking out one.

Game two went poorly for the Clippers as they were sunk after an 11-run opening frame by Chilton. Lodl and Bryce Plzak each failed to go at least one inning while giving up a combined 11 runs (6 ER, all on Lodl). Plzak and LeMeiux provided the only offense of the game for the Clippers with one hit apiece. Chilton had four players collect at least two RBI, led by Kyle Davidson's four.
