Clippers baseball host rival Eagles for doubleheader on U-102.1

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers baseball team, who has won four straight games coming into Tuesday, will take on their rival the Southern Door Eagles in a doubleheader.

Sturgeon Bay was scheduled to take on Algoma on Saturday, but that matchup was postponed due to weather conditions making the game unplayable. The Clippers have taken their last two doubleheaders against NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy by scores of 18-8 and 5-4, and defeated Sevastopol 12-2 and 18-8. Sturgeon Bay lost both games to the Eagles last season.

Southern Door had the chance to play on Saturday in Peshtigo, and took full advantage of it. The Eagles defeated the Peshtigo Bulldogs on the road by scores of 15-5 and 17-3. Southern Door has started their season 9-1 overall, and are 8-0 in Packerland play, sitting atop the conference with Kewaunee. The lone loss this season for the Eagles came from St. Mary’s Catholic, losing 3-2 on April 22nd.

Gary Barta and Reece Robillard will be on the call from Memorial Field on U-102.1 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com. The pregame show is slated for 4:15 with first pitch at 4:30 between the Clippers and Eagles.
