The Sturgeon Bay Clippers softball team will have a chance to bounce back from their tough opening series with Kewaunee with another doubleheader, this time against Oconto Saturday morning.
The Clippers were one-hit in both games against the Storm of Kewaunee, with Regan Kasten and Madeline Propsom having one hit a piece in each game of the doubleheader off of Kewaunee pitcher Jenna Rohr. Oconto was a thorn in the side of Sturgeon Bay last season, as the Clippers lost to the Blue Devils 16-1 last season in their lone matchup.
Oconto was 14-4 last season, but have gotten off to an average start to the season with their record sitting at 1-1. Coming off of a 9-1 loss to the Peshtigo Bulldogs, the Blue Devils will want to come out fast to avenge that loss.
First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 11:00 p.m.
