Clipper baseball defeats Preble in dramatic fashion

In a game that went 10 innings, the Sturgeon Bay Clippers won an absolute classic over the Green Bay Preble Hornets 7-6 Tuesday night.

After leading 4-1 after four innings, the Hornets of Preble tied the game up at four a piece. The game would remain tied at four after seven innings, and extra innings is where the game truly became fun.

In the top of the 8th, Green Bay Preble was able to put a run on the board, making it four unanswered runs after Clipper pitcher Caleb Plzak walked in the go ahead run making it 5-4. In the bottom of the 8th, Brody Kollath walked, then Garrett Ulberg reached on an error to have two runners on for the Clippers. Jack Henry would then reach on an error, which brought around pinch runner Ian Fruzyna to tie the game, sending it to the ninth inning.

The two teams would add on runs in the ninth inning, and Brody Kollath would shut down the top of the tenth inning to give the Clippers a chance to win it in the 10th. The bases would be loaded for Curt Meyer with two out, and Meyer hit a single up the right side of the infield to walk it off late into the night for a final score of 7-6.
