Clipper Softball to welcome in Kewaunee

In a rematch of last season’s regional playoff game, Sturgeon Bay softball will open up their season with Kewaunee on Tuesday afternoon.

The two teams matched up twice last season, with Kewaunee taking both matchups, but most recently winning the round one regional playoff game 17-0. Two seniors from that team have since graduated, leaving potentially most of the team back from last season. The Clippers offense showed their ability to score last year, winning games by scores of 10-2, 13-0, 22-0 and 11-6.

Kewaunee will look to bounce back from their opening loss to Chilton 17-4. The game was closely contested through the first three innings, but the top of the fourth inning would be one for Kewaunee to forget. Maddilyn Mueller would start the scoring in the inning off for Chilton, roping a single into left field scoring two runs. Chilton would continue their high scoring inning with walks and scoring on passed balls and concluded the top of the fourth with a 17-2 lead.

First pitch from Sturgeon Bay is set for 4:00 p.m.
