Clippers girls truck over to Clintonville for WIAA opener

It is a new season for the Sturgeon Bay Lady Clippers as they open their WIAA Girls' Basketball Tournament with a road game at Clintonville.

The Clippers are looking for their first win since January 5th when they toppled Green Bay East. They otherwise went winless in the Packerland Conference, falling to Kewaunee in their regular season finale last Thursday 75-41. Emma Reinhardt and Autumn Rass each scored 14 points in the loss.

The Truckers have struggled as well since the new year, winning only four games since January 5th. They enter the game on a two-game losing streak including a 71-61 loss to Denmark in their regular season finale. The Truckers are led by Natalie Sunita, who averages 11.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.

The matchup has been moved up to 6 p.m.
