Sturgeon Bay High School

New season means new opportunities for Clippers Boys Basketball

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers saw a challenging season come to a close last year with two back to back losses to the Kewaunee Storm. The Clippers will look to change that and turn it into a winning season in the 2022-2023 campaign.

Sturgeon Bay had a bit of a down season compared to their standards, with a 5-11 conference record, and an overall record of 6-18. Isaak Aune was the team's scoring leader last season, and will once again be the leader of the Clippers this season as a senior. Sturgeon Bay lost five seniors to graduation, and will be without Danny Lodl, who was a projected starter due to an ankle injury.

The Clippers will be looking for a big step from their forward play, including the play of Gannon Evers. Evers was the starting big man for the team last year, and as a junior will need to be one of the strengths of the team on both sides of the floor. Garrett Ulberg will also be a big name to watch if the Clippers start their season strong.

Sturgeon Bay opens their season on the road against the Chilton Tigers on November 22nd, and will begin Packerland play against Green Bay NEW Lutheran on the 1st of December.
