Clippers look to weather the Storm on U102.1

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers have a chance to get their revenge Friday night as they travel to conference opponent Kewaunee in level one of the WIAA postseason at Don Rabas Field.

Sturgeon Bay earned a trip to the WIAA postseason and a seven seed by finishing the season 5-4 overall and 4-3 in the conference. They were led all season by Danny Lodl, who went down with a season ending ankle injury against this very same Storm team. The Clippers will look for a better performance from their defense, who gave up 55 points in a 55-14 loss three weeks ago. Sturgeon Bay has and needs to perform better than that if they want to pull the upset and continue to make noise and a run into the playoffs.

Kewaunee was able to land a 2 seed in the playoffs, after a 8-1 Overall finish, with that one loss coming in conference play to the Southern Door Eagles. Those Eagles are the only team rated higher than the Storm. Kewaunee has played both sides of the ball well all season, as some may call them the best well rounded team in the area. They will look to put that on display against the Clippers this week, as they have an opportunity to take home field up until a potential rematch against the Eagles.

Bryan Mazur and Gary Barta will be on the call from Don Rabas Field on U102.1 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com. The pregame show begins at 6:45 with kickoff set for 7:00 in the WIAA playoffs.
