Clippers fall to Storm, Lodl leaves game on 103.3 The Clipper

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers' entry into a playoff spot will have to be delayed at least one week, as they fell to the Kewaunee Storm 55-14.

Sturgeon Bay was scored on early and often in this one, as Owen Carlson opened up the scoring 3 minutes and 31 seconds into the game, as he took a rushing touchdown into the endzone. The Clippers would then fumble the ball which led to another Storm touchdown to make it 14-0. Another fumble on the next drive by Kaden Lettie led to a scoop and score by Kewaunee to make it 21-0.

Another fumble, this time by Mason Sacotte with 3:56 left in the first quarter would make it a total of 3 turnovers just in the first quarter. The Clippers would get their first stand of the game on defense, but a pick six from Kewaunee would put the Storm up 28-0 at the end of the first.

The points would not stop for the Storm as Mitchell Thompson ran it into the endzone twice to make it a 42-0 game. Thompson would then throw a back shoulder fade to Caleb Schaller to make it 48-0.

The Clippers got on the board after that as Bryce Plzak beat his man deep down the field and was open for a touchdown.

In the fourth quarter, Danny Lodl suffered a left ankle injury, and would not return to the game for the Clippers.

Carlson put the game away to make it a 55-14 final after another touchdown from the Clippers.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers will next be in action next Saturday as they take on the Mishicot Indians.
