Clippers look to clinch playoffs versus Storm on 103.3 The Clipper

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers look to clinch a spot in the WIAA playoffs for the first time since a 2011 appearance, ending in a round 2 loss to eventual state champs, Wrightstown.

Sturgeon Bay (4-2 Overall, 3-1 Packerland), has got its offense clicking at the right time. Going into the home stretch of the season, the Clippers have scored 40 or more in their last three wins over Marinette, Peshtigo, and most recently Oconto. Danny Lodl will be in the running for All-Packerland Conference 1st team Quarterback with his play recently, and the trio of running backs have been doing their job. An underrated part of the Clippers success though, has been their ability to shut down offenses, and play a clean game on special teams. The Clippers will have their hands full with the Kewaunee Storm, but if there was any time to play them if you’re Sturgeon Bay, it is right now while the team is clicking.

Kewaunee (6-0 Overall, 4-0 Packerland), has been rolling since the beginning of the season, and it has not slowed down through the conference season so far. The Storm are outscoring their Packerland conference opponents by a total of 194-34. Owen Carlson has been a bright spot of the Storm so far this season, having an explosive last two games, with two big plays in the Special Teams. Kewaunee has clinched their spot in the WIAA playoffs already, alongside Southern Door. They will be looking to keep the Clippers out for at least one more week.
