Sturgeon Bay seeks to snap losing streak on 103.3 The Clipper

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers will look to shake off a 2 game losing streak when they welcome the Marinette Marines to Memorial Field.

Sturgeon Bay (1-2), have lost their last two games against Antigo and conference opponent Bonduel, but have shown the ability to stay in games within those two losses, still giving them confidence against Marinette. The Clippers and Marines are the two new teams to the Packerland conference, and the Clippers are led by a 3 man backfield of David Zuehlke, Mason Sacotte, and Caleb Plzak. Plzak has burst onto the scene the past two weeks, carrying the ball more often and getting longer down looks, whereas Zuehlke has been the workhorse for the team the whole season. The Clippers will look to get back to .500 overall and in the Packerland.

Marinette (1-2), has had a similar start to the season as Sturgeon Bay has, blowing out Green Bay East, but then struggling their next two games, losing 40-6 to Menominee (MI) and Kewaunee 56-8. The Marines have multiple players that contribute on offense, and showed against Green Bay East that they can score points, winning 41-0. Marinette will be looking for their first win in Packerland history this Friday against Sturgeon Bay.

Gary Barta and Quinn Struck will have the call from Memorial Field as Sturgeon Bay hosts Marinette on 103.3 The Clipper, 96.7 WBDK HD-2 and NewRadioSportsNetwork.com with pregame starting at 6:45 and kickoff set for 7:00 P.M.
