Bonduel too much for Clippers on 103.3 The Clipper

Sturgeon Bay’s first Packerland conference game in a couple seasons did not go how they wanted it to, losing to the Bears of Bonduel 41-7.

From the start Sturgeon Bay seemed to be outmatched by the Bonduel running game, as they gave up chunk yards play after play until Quarterback Noah Weier kept the ball himself on a designed run for him and he was untouched to the endzone. The Bears would pile on once again with a run to Louis Hrabik to make it a 14-0 ball game at the end of the first quarter.

The touchdowns kept coming for Bonduel, as the third different player for the Bears scored a touchdown as Gaven Vance was able to score a touchdown, but was also able to make the play of the game for Bonduel as he made a ridiculous one handed grab with a defender on him. The Clippers went down by a score of 34-0 at the half.

Sturgeon Bay was able to gain some momentum throughout the course of the 3rd quarter, but were unable to make any points of it, as they committed 4 turnovers throughout the game. Coach Carl Waterstreet said after the game it felt like the Clippers were “playing against themselves out there.”

Late in the fourth quarter, the two teams were able two swap touchdowns as backup running back Ben Letter got into the endzone for the Bears, and David Zuehlke broke the scoreless game for the Clippers with a rushing touchdown with 1:00 remaining.

The player of the game was Mason Sacotte, with a fumble recovery on the defensive end, and David Zuehlke once again with a rushing touchdown.

The Clippers will look to enter the win column again as they will return home to host the Marinette Marines. Quinn Struck and Gary Barta will once again have the call on 103.3 The Clipper, 96.7 WBDK HD-2 and NewRadioSportsNetwork.com.
