Sturgeon Bay baseball, softball visits Sevastopol

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers baseball makes the short trip north on Highway 57 to face Sevastopol in Institute on Monday.

 

The Clippers were only able to squeeze one of its two games in last week against Peshtigo, falling 5-3 to the Bulldogs. Emmett Braschnewitz had a single and a double with two RBI in the loss. 

 

The Pioneers lost to Gibraltar 17-9 in its last game. Jack de Young, Frankie Ash, and Nick Peterson all had three hits and two RBI in the loss.

 

On the softball diamond, the Pioneers enter the game winners of eight of their last ten games, including a two-game sweep of Algoma Saturday. They have earned one of four one seeds in the Division 5 softball tournament.  The Clippers will play Kewaunee on Thursday to open their tournament run. They have lost three of their last four games, including a 7-0 loss to Kewaunee. The two teams will also begin play at 4:30 p.m.
