Baseball: Shorthanded Clippers can't overcome late surge

With three starters out of Friday’s game, Sturgeon Bay lost the fourth starter in the 1st inning when Andrew Carbajal was hit by a pitch and would exit the game. The Clippers looked ready to overcome injuries, taking a 3-1 lead in the top of the 5th inning, scoring two runs on 4 hits. The decisive bottom of the 5th saw Peshtigo score 6 runs on a hit batter, walk, and 5 singles. Sturgeon Bay outhit Peshtigo 8-7 and were led by Hunter Moore, who went 3-3, and Anthony Jennerjohn who was 2-4 at the plate. Jennerjohn took the mound loss with relief from Chris Lodl in the 6th inning.

The Clippers dropped to 7-6 on the season and will host Manitowoc Lutheran in a Saturday non-conference game starting at 11:00 AM.
